Virginia Mae Rasmussen, 68 years of age and a resident of Everett for the past 20 years, died on Friday, January 30, 1998 in an Everett nursing home following an extended illness.
She was born on April 12, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Lucille (Curtis) Ayling.
She attended school in Detroit.
The family moved to Snohomish when she was 14.
She married Robert Rasmussen on May 15, 1948 in Snohomish.
He died October 5, 1977.
She worked as a Nurses Aide in Snohomish and after moving to Aberdeen in 1974 she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a Unit Clerk.
Virginia loved to embroider, crochet and bowl.
She attended the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Butorac of Marysville, Nancy Rinaldi of Marysville and Susan Larsen of Hoquiam, Washington; three sons, Ronald Rasmussen of Orting, Richard Rasmussen of Hoquiam and Robert Rasmussen of Aberdeen; three sisters, Patricia Hicks of Seattle, Thelma Stribling of Snohomish and Mary Lou Barnett of Lake Stevens; three brothers, Theodore Ayling of Marysville, Meredith Ayling of Lake Stevens and David Ayling of Everett; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, George Ayling.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3rd in the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam.
Interment will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
