" J. F. Edmonson, 53, Ex Merced Teacher, Dies.
MERCED (Merced Co.), July 27. Funeral services for James Francis Edmonson, age 53, of Merced, who died at Ahwanhee Sanitorium today [July 27], will be held in the Welch-Nelson Chapel [in Merced] at 2 P.M. Monday [July 29] with Rev. E. J. Ulmer of Caruthers officiating.
Edmonson had lived in Merced for two and a half years and until early this year was an agricultural teacher at the Merced Union High School. He had been ill since his retirement. He was born in Clayton, Ind[iana], coming to California eleven years ago.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Ollie Edmonson, two sons, Vance and James; a daughter, Joan, all of Merced; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Thompson, Indiana, and Mrs. Ruth Nimal, West Virginia; a brother Alva T. Edmonson, Indiana.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Merced." END

Friends are cordially invited to attend services to be held in the Ivory Chapel of Welch-Nelson Mortuary July 29th at two P.M. Rev. E. J. Ulmer will officiate.
