He resided at 15 Gladstone, Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

Alfred enlisted in the Army on May 7, 1941 in Syracuse, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Salesperson and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24H #42-7579 took off, with a crew of "9", on a bombing mission to strike the Messerschmitt aircraft factory at Gotha, Germany. They were shot down by a German BF-109G fighters and crashed southwest of Herborn, Germany during the war.

Alfred was "Killed In Action" in this crash along with " 2 other crew members ".

He was awarded a Purple Heart.

He was first interred overseas and later re-interred here on Saturday, January 29, 1949.
