Professional Football Player. Born Terry Patrick Joyce, he attended Knox County High School (Edina, Missouri), where he was a multi-sports athlete excelling at baseball and basketball, as well as football. He attended Highland Community College (Kansas) and Wichita State University, before transferring to Missouri Southern State, where he earned All-American status at the punter and tight-end positions. Joyce was signed as a non-drafted player by the St. Louis Cardinals. and for two seasons (1976 to 1977) played as a punter and tight end in the National Football League with the Cardinals. His most productive year was in 1976, when he recorded 64 punts for 2,331 yards. In 18 career games, he amassed 86 punts for 3,182 yards, with a 37.0 average. Following his football career, he worked in the private sector. His son Brandon Joyce (who died tragically in a shooting in December 2010), was a professional football player in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts and in the United Football League with the Las Vegas Locomotives. He died from brain cancer.
