Gilly married Joel Moody on 15 September 1819 in Chatham County, North Carolina. Seven children were born to this union, Andrew J., Permelia A., Martha, Isaac, Thomas B., Benjamin R. and Mary M. Moody.
Gilly died on 10 January 1872, Woodson County, Kansas. She is buried in the LeRoy Cemetery, Coffey County, Kansas, beside her husband Joel Moody.
