Markham, 80, long-time Milwaukee Railroad engineer in western Montana, died Sunday in Blackfoot, Idaho, near where he had ranched following his retirement in 1951. He was born March 9, 1882, in St. Edwards, Neb., and came to Missoula in 1910. In 1951 he went to Sterling, Idaho, where he was in the ranching business with a son, Leonard M., and a son-in-law, George Perry. Survivors, besides the son and Mrs. Perry, are two other daugters, Mrs. Edwin Russ of Missoula and Mrs. William Linton of Greenville, Texas; seven sisters; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church; Mineral Lodge 100, AF&AM, of Alberton; the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; and Esther Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star of Blackfoot, Idaho. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Squire-Simmons-Carr Rose Chapel.
