Mrs. Nettie S. Meadows

Mrs. Nettie S. Meadows, 87, of Greenville, Ms., died Sunday, January 22, 1989 at Delta Medical Center in Greenville. A native of Magee, Mrs. Meadows attended P/S Simpson County. After marrying O.C. Meadows, she moved to the Mississippi Delta and Glen Allen where they owned and operated Meadows Restaurant and Meadows Dollar Store. She was a resident of Greenville since 1978 where she was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Organization of Eastern Star, operated a grocery store in Glen Allen and moved to Hollindale and operated Meadows Restaurant.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 1989 at Mims Mitchell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Reggie Smith and Rev. Jack Moore officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of arrangements and burial was at Sharon Cemetery.

Survivors include 3 sons, Mr. Willard O. Meadows of Greenville, Mr. J.P. Meadows of Gulfport, and Mr. Millard Meadows of Jackson; 2 daughters, Mrs. Polly Benton of Vicksburg, Mrs. Katie Shambers of Leland; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mattie Everett and Mrs. Annie Jane McWilliams, both of Magee, and Mrs. Emile Garner of Mendenhall; 13 grandchildren, 34, great grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
