Funeral services for Richard F. McCord, 53, formerly of Muncie, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Meeks Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Calling hours are at the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and any time prior to services Friday.
Mr. McCord died Tuesday afternoon in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, after an illness of several weeks.
He was a native of Frankfort and moved to Muncie as a child. He graduated from Royerton High School and served in the Army for two years.
Mr. McCord worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad, now Norfolk & Western, for 30 years before his retirement when he lived in Peru and Indianapolis.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.
Surviving are his parents, Forrest and Virginia Agnes Smither McCord, Muncie; his wife, Mary Louise Foutch McCord; three sons, FRichard Michael, Michigan City, Terry, Westerville, Ohio, and Timothy, Peru; five sisters, Janet Paul and Nancy McCord, both of Muncie, Rosemary Elton, Parker City, Betty Herold, Sacramento, Calif., and Phyllis Fecher, Rushville; and five grandchildren.
