William Henry was born to John H and "Sally" Morris Pemberton. He had one brother Mount Aetna, who died about age two.
He married Jennie Henrietta Snyder on September 30, 1878. They lived in Golden City, Missouri. He and Jennie are the parents of four children Pearl born (1880-1953), Cuyler born 1882, Voyl (1886-1887), and Helen who died at birth March 30, 1891.
William Henry was an active citizen in the town of Golden City. He opened the first hardware, tin shop and farm implement store, built the first brick building at the corner of Pine and Main, took part in organizing the first Christian Church in 1884 and helped conduct elections. In the 1910 census he is listed as an insurance agent.
