Services for Osea P. Kingery held January 15

Funeral services for Osea P. Kingery, 97, of 420 East 11th Street, Cedar Falls, formerly of Greene, were held Saturday January 15, 2000 at the First Presbyterian Church in Green with Pastor Galen E. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene. Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene was in charge of arrangements.

Osea P. Kingery was born September 20, 1902 in Coldwater Township Butler County, a daughter of Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth (Pringle) Hesalroad, and died Wednesday, January 23, 2000 at the Western Home in Cedar Falls.

She received her education in the rural Coldwater Township schools and the Greene High School. She was united in marriage to Darrell Kingery on May 5, 1920 at the Christian Church Parsonage in Charles City. Shortly after their marriage they move to Windom, Minn., where they farmed until 1925, when they returned to Iowa where they farmed northwest of Green in Union Township, Floyd County. In 1949, they moved to the Waterloo and Cedar Falls area, where she has lived since.

Osea was baptized in the Christian Church in Greene and became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greene where she taught Sunday School for many years. She later became a member of the First Presbyterian in Cedar Falls. She was a member of the Elm Springs Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary and the Halls Grove Ladies Aid. Her interests included collecting antiques, crochet and knitting. *one line not readable* include her daughter Ethel and Richard "Mac" McNutt of Roanoke, Virginia; two sons, Keith and his wife Donna of Green Valley, Arizona, Darrell "Dutch" and his wife Maxine Kingery of Nashua; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 13 great - great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 2, 1979; one grandson, Richard Kingery in 1982; her parents; three sisters, Adah Gates, Amy Shook and Leah White Quick; and one brother Paul Hesalroad.
