He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church at the time of his death.
He united in marriage to Miss Nannie E. Lobb March 4, 1949, who survives. To this union was born one son: James Leslie (J. L.) Durrett USCG, Astoria, Oregon.
Mr. Durrett is also survived by five brothers: Earl, Finis and Alfonso Durrett, all of Greensburg; Hamilton Durrett, Sulpur, Ky., and Oris Durrett, Louisville; one granddaughter Erica Lynn Durrett.
Funeral services were conducted at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 13, with burial in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Revs. Thurman Eaton and Leon Larimore officiated.
Pallbearers were Finis Wayne Durrett, Gayle Durrett, Greg Durrett, Stan Durrett, Billy Joe Durrett, William Allen Durrett and Barry Durrett.
