He portrayed a railroad enigineer, dressed in a pin-striped jacket, cap, and overalls, with a red 'kerchief' around his neck, and called himself "your old buddy, Casey Jones" (named after a real life railroad engineer). He entertained children from 1954 until late 1972 at noon on weekdays. During the half hour show he entertained the children with cartoons, birthday greetings, and silly comedy bits. The show was called "Lunch With Casey" and the noon time show was one of the most popular children's shows on television. There were 8,000 shows over the 18 years it was on television.
