John H.Butler, was the son of Prof. John J. BUTLER and Elizabeth (Everett) Butler. His mother was bn in Wales, his father in Berwich, ME.
John H. lived in various states while his father taught in several institutions during his career, the last in Hillsdale, MI, where John H. became Professor of Latin, later a pastor of a Congregational Church at Somerset, MI. He had two sisters, Elizabeth L. and Hattie E.
He married Amanda B. and they had a son, Clarence C., who became a teacher.
He was age 83 yrs., 3 mos. and 29 d.
He lived a worthy and useful life.
