YPSILANTI, Mich. ? James R. "Jim" Fulcher , 74, of Ypsilanti Township, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004.
He was born in Ferrum, Va., April 30, 1930, to William G. and Theora Gibson Fulcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Alpena and of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Imogene D. Fulcher; four children, Richard Fulcher, Kathy Baker, Karen Meeks and Robert Fulcher; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister and two brothers of Martinsville, Va.
Burial will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. John of the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Edmond Ertzbischoff officiating. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Alpena with visitation at the cemetery at 9:30 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends at the church from 4-8 p.m. today with a scripture service at 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
