Winfield F.Crowley,80,a retired grocer, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Oak Ridge Hospital after a long illness.
He operated Crowley's Grocery in front of his home on Foley Hill Rd.on Clinton Rt.3 for about 10 years until retiring in 1961. Earlier he mined coal for more than 30 years.
He was a member of Jarnigan's Chapel Baptist Church.
The body is at Martin Funeral Home in Clinton.The family will receive friends Thursday (tonight).Services are to be at 2 p.m.Friday night at Jarnigan's Chapel Church with the Rev. R.L. Gibson and the Rev. Arless Lamarr officiating. Burial is to be in the church cemetery.
He leaves his wife,the former,Litha Burress, three daughters, Mrs.Letha Bunch of Clinton Rt.2, Mrs. Lillian Phillips of Beech Fork, and Mrs. Virgie Helen Newport of Xenia,O.H, three sons, Ondes Crowley of Clinton Rt.3, Estel Crowley of Lexington,Ky.,and Audie of Corbin, Ky.,42 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren
