Mrs. Ethel Strine King, 76, of Sykesville, died Saturday, Oct. 12, at home.
She was the wife of Charles Norris King. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sterling Knauff of Winfield.
Born Dec. 3, 1919, in Westminster, she was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Ethel Haines Strine.
Mrs.. King was employed by Hartz Sewing factory for 23 years and Springfield Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for 25 years. She was a life member of Winfield Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Sam's Creek Church of the Brethren, and the MCEA Chapter 152 of retirees.
Surviving in addition to her second husband are three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two daughter, Janice Abell and husband Francis of Winfield, and Judy Bowlin and husband Douglas of Sykesville; one brother, Robert Strine of Sanford, Fla; and three sisters, Helen Reese of Mount Pleasant, Rose Smith of New Windsor and Maggie Dickensheets of New Windsor.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralf Strine and Paul Strine; and two sisters, Maryanne Strine and Dorothy Yingling.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Burrier-Queen Chapel, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, with the Rev. Paul Leatherman, Jr. of Sam's Creek Church of the Brethren officiating.
