Roy Wilbur Hardman II, 23, of 13600 Greenbower Road NE, died Monday evening of a self-inflicted gunshot wound according to a ruling by Alliance area Deputy Coroner Dr. Roland Lowden.
Hardman was pronouced dead on arrival at Alliance City Hospital 7 p.m. Monday.
Born in Alliance Jul 18, 1954, he lived in this vicinity all his life and was affiliated with the Science Hill United Church of Christ.
A student at Kent State University with a 4.0 average, he graduated from Marlington High School in 1972. He was a member of the KSU Science Club, Lexington Grange, and was completing his student teaching in Warren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Wilbur Hardman. Survivors include his mother, the former Anna Belle Humphries; seven sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Helen) Barber, Alliance; Mrs. Ivan (Ida) Wolfenbarger, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Michael (Shyrlayne) Gajazik, Lorraine; Mrs. Richard (Lana Rae) Perkins, Niles; Mrs. Russell (Darla Dee) Price, Greenwich; Mrs. Steve (Holly) Weigand, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs Vito (Vallene Rhue) Weeda, also of Niles; two brothers, Walter of Leesville, Fla. and Charles of Baldwin Park, Cal.; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the Myers-Israel Funeral Home Thursday at 1 p.m., Rev. Edwin Jeffries officiating.
Burial will follow at Alliance City Cemetary.
