Frank apparently drowned in a water-filled ditch on the outskirts of New Rockford after suffering a seizure.

Survivors include his wife Myrtle; eight daughters: Mrs. Gale (Shelene) Halvorson of Harvey, ND, Mrs. Blair (Marlene) Chapman of Minnewaukan, Mrs. Kenny (Diane) Smith of Billings, MT, Mrs. Arden (Arlys) Brorby of Rock Lake, ND, Mrs. Steven (Virgene) Conover of Broadview, MT, Mrs. Don (Louella) Shroyer of Columbus, Nancy Brekkus of Aberdeen, SD and Penny Alfstad; five sons: Frank of Rugby, Jerry of Harvey, Dennis of Seattle, Bradley of Fargo and Gregory of New Rockford; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Mrs. Louie (Betty) Kitzman of Pasco, WA, Mrs. Ingvold (Julia) Noracker of Carrington, Iva Grant of Devils Lake, Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Nelson of Maddock, Helen Thueson of Anaheim, CA, Thelma Brandt of Portland, OR and Violet Schulke of Stockton, CA and a brother Hilding Alfstad of Sheyenne.
