James Jefferson Davis Wilson died on 9 January 1949, Keys Valley, Bell County,
Texas. His obituary from the Belton Journal, January 13,1949 —

"J. J. D. Wilson Buried Monday”
"Funeral services for James J. D. Wilson, 89, who died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, were held in Killeen Monday afternoon. Mr. Wilson had been ill for some time and died at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Allen Moore in Keys Valley. C. H. Welch, Church of Christ minister conducted the service, with burial in Killeen cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons.
"Mr. Wilson is survived by eight sons and three daughters. Tom Wilson Brownfield; Mert and George Wilson, Portales,  N.M.; Jack, Ira, and Jim Wilson of Snyder; L. M. Wilson. Waco; Mrs. Ida Addison, Plains; and Mrs. H. G. Neves, Killeen, Texas .”

Woodrow Wilson, Belton; and 49 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren."
