|Death: ||May 18, 1853|
She was baptized in New Milford 4 Aug 1771, the daughter of James Beers and Hannah Burr.
Through her grandmother and namesake, Olive (Bulkeley) Beers, Olive (Beers) Canon was a descendant of Rev. Peter Bulkeley, founding minister of Concord, Massachusetts, and his first wife, Jane Allen. Her mother was a niece of Rev. Aaron Burr, president of the College of New Jersey (Princeton University), and first cousin to U.S. Vice-President Aaron Burr.
Olive married Ira Canon in New Milford 10 Oct 1793. In the distribution of her father's estate 20 Jan 1798, "Olive Cannon, the wife of Ira Cannon" received three tracts of land in New Milford. They must have removed to New Milford from Lee, Massachusetts about the time of the distribution, and they were enumerated there in the 1800 federal census. They returned to Berkshire County within a few years and remained there for the rest of their lives. The nine children of Ira and Olive (Beers) Canon, probably in birth order, were: James, Ebenezer, Hannah, Ezra, Betsey, Patience, John, Chauncey and Rosina.
