George served as an Aviation Cadet & Pilot on PT-19A #42-33810, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 479 Hawley Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York and was previously a member of the New York National Guard prior to the war.

The National Guard unit he was previously a member of was called into full time active Army service on October 8, 1942 from Rochester, New York. Since he had only been out of the Guard for less than three months he was called back into service with the unit. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Machinist and also as Single, without dependents.

George died in the "Line Of Duty" in a crash of the PT-19A he was piloting during flight trainer near Chicasha, Oklahoma.
