Mrs. Agnes (Kennedy) Gillis.
One of Berks county's most aged women, died last night at her home at 2115 Spring Street, West Lawn. She was 93 years of age.
Mrs. Gillis, widow of Frank Gillis, was born in Coatesville, daughter of the late James and Isabella (Kennedy) Kennedy, but spent most of her life in Reading. For many years she operated a men's shirt shop on Second Street near Penn and later was associated with her son-in-law and daughter in the operation of Long's Candy Store on Franklin Street. She was a charter member of the Oliver Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Gillis is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Amy Long, two grandchildren and a brother, John C. Kennedy.
