AKINS, James P., Jr. Of Wareham, formerly of Newton June 10, 2011 Ret. Newton Police Dept. Son of the late James & Madeline (O'Neil) Akins. Loving brother of Mary Akins of W. Dennis & Charles Akins & his wife Shirley of Mashpee. Dear uncle of Charles Akins of Medway, Richard Akins of Manchester, NH & the late Thomas Akins. Also survived by 6 great nieces & 2 great nephews & his extended family at Tremont Rehab. & Skilled Care Center in Wareham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady Help Of Christians Church, 573 Washington St., Newton, on Tuesday, June 14th at 12:00pm. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 10:30am-12:00pm. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
