Robert J. Williams, 89, of 108 Hearthstone Lane, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Jeanne Marie Mercereau Williams and the late Mary E. Forney Williams. Born in Lykens, on September 15, 1921, he was the son of the late Allen A. and Edith M. VanHouten Williams. He retired as a nursing assistant from the Lebanon VA Medical Center and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Robert was a graduate of Lykens High School, a member of Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, Cleona, and a former member of the Kenbrook Bible Camp Auxiliary, the Messiah Village Auxiliary, and the Steelstown Gunning Club. Surviving, in addition to his second wife, are a son, Jeffrey T. Williams of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Faith, wife of David Bicksler of Palmyra; three stepsons, Michael McLauglin of San Pedro, Calif., James McLauglin of Palmyra, and William Glassmoyer of Newmanstown; two stepdaughters, Marie Sattazahn of Lebanon and Deborah Day of Harrisburg; a sister, Kathryn Seese of Millersburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark A. Williams and Paul D. Williams; and a sister, Mary E. Miller. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, at 10 a.m. from Fairland Brethren in Christ Church, 529 W. Penn Ave., Cleona 17042. Interment will be in Reigle's Cemetery, Millersburg. Viewing will be held on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Contributions may be made to Fairland Brethren in Christ Church in his memory. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements. Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 10, 2011
