Edina, Mo., April 11.—Funeral services for Mrs. Eva L. Brown, prominent Northeast Missouri clubwoman, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 in the Christian church here, conducted by the Rev. Olin B. Alexander. Burial will be in Linville cemetery.
Mrs. Brown, 74, died Tuesday morning at 1:30 in her home here. She was born near Edina July 24, 1876, a daughter of Thomas and Sarah Virginia Jarvis Burk. She was married to Dr. Ed S. Brown May 24, 1899. Her husband died several years ago, and a son, Ed J. Brown, died Oct. 19, 1941.
Surviving are one son, Judge Tom B. Brown of Edina; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Arnold of Wells, Neb., Mrs. Llua B. Kell of Boulder, Col., and Miss Ellen I. Burk, a missionary to the Belgian Congo; two brothers, Charles G. Burk of Stanfield, Ore., and Jesse Burk of Denver, Col., two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Christian church and the Christian Women's Missionary society here. She was a charter member of the Culture club, Chapter AX, P. E. O., and the Daughters of the American Revolution at La Belle. She was a former district and state officer of the Missouri Federation of Women's Clubs and in 1940 was awarded a medal for her pioneer work in women's clubs.
