Actress. She provided the voices for a large number of characters in the Anime video games, movies, and television features popular in Japan. Raised in Tokyo, she graduated from her home city's Toho Gakuen School of Music, got her first job in animated films as a young boy in 1994's "Metal Fighter Miku", was Chiriko in the 1995 "Fushigi Yuugi", and landed her first starring turn the following year as the title Utena Tenju of "Revolutionary Girl Utena". Thereafter, she was kept busy with her best known roles including Hikaru Shindou in "Hikaru no Go", Miu Furinji from "Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple", Soifon in "Bleach", and Fuyuki Hinata of "Sgt. Frog". Possessed of a strong voice that could portray girls and boys equally well, Tomoko's most popular characters were probably tomboys like Soifon and Utena. Forced to curtail her schedule after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in August of 2008, she nevertheless continued some work until her death, her final credit being Shojo in "Clannad: After Story". Most of her legacy of about 140 games and videos has been preserved. 
Cremated, Ashes scattered.
