Byron Cramer, 77, of Ellensburg, died October 3, 1992 in Vancouver, Washington. Mr. Cramer was born June 4, 1915 to Byron Sr. and Amma (Brisson) Cramer in Great Falls, Montana. His family homesteaded land near Conrad, Montana during his youth.

On June 2, 1939 he and Mary Frances Schnebly were married in the Presbyterian Church in Ellensburg. In 1941 they moved to Seattle where he pursued an electronics career, including service with ACS in Alaska during WWII and the Port of Embarcation. In 1954 Bryon and Mary built and operated a motel in Westport and he later owned a marine electronics business. During his years at Westport he was very active, serving the community as chairman of the Ocosta School board, as president of the Westport Chamber of commerce, as the town marshal and as city mayor.

In the late 1960s, the Cramers moved to Bothell. He traveled extensively while working for Sound Marine of Seattle and later served as chief engineer for RCA, marine electronics division, until his retirement. They returned to Ellensburg three years ago. He loved fishing and hunting, and was an avid ham radio operator. In later years he took pleasure in writing and he wrote a book for his children and grandchildren describing his life on the Montana prairie. He was a member of the SCRIBES writing club in Ellensburg.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Gary of Wenatchee, Daryl of Seattle, Wesley of Bothell; two daughters, Sharon Mildon and her husband Ted of Ellensburg, Marviean Cramer of Redmond; his three sisters, Margaret Bramlett of Ridgefield, Bonnie Fahrnkopf and June Moho and husband Bob of Vancouver; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 9 at the IOOF Cemetery in Ellensburg. Viewing will be Friday, October 9 from 10 a.m. until noon at Steward and Williams Chapel. Family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
