John Wesley Moore was the son of John & Sarah W. (Prior) Moore.

He married Belle Marie Bigum on 29 Apr 1869 in Perry Co., OH. They had 12 known children:

- Sarah Etta Moore Fritz Ringolsky (1871-1937)
- Media May Moore Osburn (1872-1905) - (birth record lists name as Eliza May)
- Vinnie Belle Moore Sharp (1874-1977) - (birth record lists name as Vinna Carrie)
- John Worley Moore (1875-1971)
- Raymond Wesley Moore (1877-1971)
- Verna Vera Moore Martinson Wescott (1881-1967) - (handwritten family record from Raymond's daughter, Helen, lists birth name as Verna Deaver)

NOTES:
There is a birth record for a male child born on Jan 26, 1880 in Pike Twp., Perry Co., OH. I suspect this may be Webster Carroll Moore since there are conflicting records for his birth date. A handwritten family tree (from his niece, Helen Moore Bowers) and his WWI draft registration list his DOB as Jan 24, 1880; another birth record and his WWII draft registration list his DOB as Jan 24, 1882.

In the 1910 census for Newark, Wilson Co., KS, there is a Marie G. Moore listed as the daughter of John Wesley Moore. Her birth date is about 1898 and she was born in Kansas. While it's not impossible that Belle had a child at age 49, it's far more likely that this is one of her granddaughters. At this time, I have found no further information on Marie.
