James Caver enlisted in Company G, 15th Regiment Georgia, Confederate States of America (CSA) on 8/15/1863 and died from wounds received at the Battle of the Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Virginia, United States on 6/2/1864.

He served in Capt. Lamar's Company G, 15th Regiment GA as part of Bennings's Bridgade, Longstreet Corps.
