Alma S. Knauff, 77, of 442 E. Catherine Street, Chambersburg, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, in ManorCare, Chambersburg, PA.

Born Oct. 5, 1924 in Guilford Township, she was the daughter of the late J. Grant and Araminta Byers Shatzer Sr.

She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg.

Mrs. Knauff had been employed for 27 years at Fairchild Industries in their blueprint department, retiring in 1977. She was also a member of the Charles Nitterhouse Post No. 1599 V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd N. Knauff; two sisters, Madeline Raifsnider of Shippensburg and Peggy McNew of Fayetteville; one brother, J. Grant Shatzer Jr. of Carlisle and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg with Rev. Dr. C. Edward Morgan officiating.

There will be no viewing.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 452 E. King Street, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
