Mr. Lawson was born April 19, 1939, in Surry County to Irene Joyce Lawson and the late O.C. Lawson.
Kent was formerly employed in the maintenance department at Renfro Corporation and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
He is survived his wife of 51 years, Hucie Watson Lawson of the home.
