Death: Jun. 1, 2011

Wanda Faye Bryant 1932 - 2011 Wanda Faye Bryant was born to Loy E. Morrison and Clota Wages in Geary, Oklahoma on January 20th 1932 and went to be with our Lord on June 1, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 45 years, Billy G. Bryant. She was a beloved Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Michael and his wife Dianne, Carolyn and her husband Gary Treanor, Mark and his wife Debbie, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many family members and dear friends. Wanda came to California during the Great Depression in 1936 and settled near Shafter. After a few years the family moved to Pixley where her father bought their own farm outside Tipton in 1943 and farmed for many years. Wanda graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Bryant in 1949, while he was on leave from the US Air Force. Bill moved his bride to where he was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After the war Bill and Wanda settled down on her parent's ranch to start their family. They lived there until 1959 when they moved to Santa Maria. Settled into life, and raised their children. Bill was hired by the Department of Corrections, while Wanda started her retail career. In 1972 Bill was transferred to Tehachapi and Wanda went to work for Grants, Dunlaps, Brocks then Gottschalks. She worked at Gottschalks until she retired in 1999. Wanda recently decided to be buried in her wedding dress and in a romantic twist; Wanda went to heaven to be reunited with Bill on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 which would have been their 62nd wedding anniversary. Everyone looked forward to her "Sunday" dinners at her home. All were welcomed by Wanda; you didn't have to be related to be considered family. She was famous for her turkey dressing. She was loved by many people and will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank the caring doctors at Kaiser Permanente. The 5th floor nurses at San Joaquin Hospital were outstanding, along with Hoffman Hospice (especially Lydia and Anne). Everyone's care made Wanda feel special. We thank you again for your time, love and care of Wanda. Chapel services will be held at Hillcrest Mortuary on June 9, 2011 at 12pm. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 4pm - 8pm at Hillcrest Mortuary. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Hoffman Hospice. Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary
