Utilitarian, follower of J. S. Mill, who edited the 'London Review' which Molesworth founded. Bcame an MP for Cornwall in 1832, and a founder of the Reform Club in 1836. Achieved little during his radical political career, however, apart from opening Kew Gardens to the public on Sundays.
