PEORIA, IL - William Thomas Rapp, 76, of 2106 W. Forrest Hill Ave., formerly of Chillicothe, died at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, at Proctor Hospital.

Born Jan. 21, 1920, in Tremont to Adam William and Edith Anna Riggs Rapp, he married Jacqueline G. Meyer on Aug. 25, 1946, in Tremont. She survives.

Also surviving are three brothers, Glen E. of Pekin, and James K. and Joseph D., both of Tremont; and five sisters, Betty M. Dorsch of Washington, Iowa, Frances R. Widmer of East Peoria, June Smith of Peoria, Joan Callahan of Tremont and Mary Lou Stecken of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother.

He was a retired high school teacher, having taught at Illinois Valley Central in Chillicothe for five years, as well as in St. Louis, Belleville and Decatur.

He received his bachelor's degree from Bradley Technical Institute. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Machinists.

He was a member of Mossville United Methodist Church.

Entombment will be in Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur.
