∼W. C. Hunnicutt, 83, died early Sunday morning, January 7, in the Bulloch County hospital after an extended illness. A native of Putnam County, Hunnicutt had lived in Statesboro since 1924. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Statesboro First Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. W.C. Hunnicutt, Statesboro; four daughters, Mrs. M.B. Burke, Mrs. Otis Hollingsworth and Mrs. Lehman Deal, Statesboro; Mrs. W.A. Hammock, Statesboro; J.C. and C.A. Hunnicutt, Savannah, S.R. Hunnicutt, Newport News, Va.; T.F. Hunnicutt, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Malone, Greenwood, S.C.; Mrs. L.E. Flake, Statesoro; three brothers, J.T. Hunnicutt, D.J. Hunnicutt and A.S. Hunnicutt, Statesoro; 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hunnicutt were held Monday afternoon, January 8, at 3:30 from the Statesoro First Methodist Church with Rev. Eugene Carier and Rev. Lawrence Houston conducting the services.
Burial was in East Side Cemetery.
