Wilma G. Kirkpatrick Asher Smith, 97, of West Point Care Center, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Born Aug. 1, 1907, in Kahoka, Mo., she was the daughter of Clark and Harriet Elizabeth Alsup Raines. She married Harry Kirkpatrick. She later married Arthur Asher. He preceded her in death. She then married Lester Smith. He also preceded her in death.

She attended the Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include five daughters, Analee Lockridge of Warrensburg, Mo., Mary Jo Griffin of Metropolis, Ill.; Judy Harding of Manchester, N.H., Linda Neff of Denmark and Connie Franklin of Burlington; one son, Larry Kirkpatrick of Davenport; 29 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and one son.

There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated.

A private family graveside service for Mrs. Smith will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
