Ocala - Elizabeth Ann Thornton, 79, of Ocala, FL passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Ocala. Born on December 7, 1931, daughter of the late Anthony J. and Stella L. (Litz) Binko, in Warren, Ohio, she came here in 1991 from Warren, Ohio. She retired in 2005 as an Adult Registered Nurse Practitioner with Mid-Wives of Ocala, Marion County Health Dept. The greatest joy in her life was that of her career and especially her family. She faithfully served her Lord and was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala where she volunteered her services in the blood pressure clinic. She was a member of the American Nurses Association and Florida Nurses Association. She was listed in the Top 20 Nurses in Marion County. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Wilbur in 1994. Betty is survived by her 3 sons: Tony of Panama City Beach, Mark of Ocala and Tom of Dunnellon: 6 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 9:30a.m. June 4, 2011, at the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 9695 SW 110th St. Ocala. Family will receive their friends from 9:00a.m. to Service time. Burial will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills. Condolences may be expressed at www.hiers-baxley.com.
