The Shepard has called another member of his flock. Deloris Lucille Fenton, age 78 of Waterloo, Iowa and a former Centerville, Iowa resident, left this world for everlasing life on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at her home in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born the daughter of George and Leota(Downing)Moore on April 8, 1933 near Dean, Iowa, she was the oldest of eight children. She graduated from the Centerville High School in 1950.
On May 17, 1953, She was united in marriage to Otha V.Fenton, Jr. in Unionville, Missouri. She worked various positions at such stores as Brody's Department Store, S&L Store and Pamida as a sales clerk, she would become a Homemaker. She was an active member of the Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville where she was the Sunday School Superintendent for over 25 years. In 2000, she received the Daily Iowegian's "Millennium Mother" award.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Otha Fenton, Jr. on April 23, 1990; son, Larry Fenton on October 11, 1994; a daughter, Linda Kauzlarich on October 31, 1995; and Lynett's special friend and fiance, Denny Hazen.
Deloris is survived by: her son, Greg and his wife, Tina Fenton of Centerville, Iowa; daughters, Cindy and her husband, Russell Printy of Centerville, Iowa, Lisa and her husband, Russell Dillavou of Waterloo, Iowa and Lynette Fenton of Waterloo, Iowa; son-in-law, Marty Kauzlarich of Delta, Colorado; brothers, Charles Mooore of Las Vegas, Nevada, Larry, Bobby Moore of Centerville, Iowa and Gary Moore of Ottumwa, Iowa; sisters, Shirley Parsons of Ames, Iowa, Marcella Hayes of Moravia, Iowa and Donna Campbell of Carlisle, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Phil Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at the Brushy Cemetery north of Plano, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 1-8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening and also on Thursday from 9 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or the family.
