Darius Bosworth was married to Ruby Taber Merrihew on July 21, 1821, in Fairhaven (the part now known as Acushnet), Mass.
Per family stories passed down, Darius and his older brother Lewis frequently traveled to Savannah, GA to go "live oaking", cutting and hauling timber used for the building of whaling ships.
Darius was a farmer by occupation. He and Ruby lived for many years, until his death, on the family homestead off of Middle Rd. in Acushnet, Mass., in the area of town known as Long Plain. Their property was located across the road from that of Ruby's parents, Peter and Sally Merrihew.
Darius and Ruby had five children:

William Bosworth (1826 - 1905)
Betsey A. Bosworth Gifford (1828 - 1904)
