Robert Neal Penney
Robert Neal Penney, 80, Whitney, died at his home in Whitney, Thursday after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Whitney, with the Rev. Fred Devaney of the First Baptist Church, Whitney and the Rev. F.E. Weller of the Missionary Baptist Church, Whitney officiating. Burial was at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Whitney.
Born at Knoxville, Tenn. he came to Texas at the age of nine, locating in Milam County. He had lived in Whitney since 1916. He married Miss Rosa Lee Shipman 54 years ago last November.
Included among his survivors are his widow, Rosa Penney; four sons, Clyde H. Penney, Hillsboro, C.Y. Penney, Linden, T.L. Penney, Itasca; one daughter, Mrs. Delores Nickens, Dallas; one brother, C.W. Penney, Sulpher, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Gooch, Florence, Ala; 20 grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
