Frank Linwood Pontious, Jr, 89, of OKC, was called to meet his Lord and Savior on May 29, 2011. Frank was born on 11/9/21 to Frank & Ina Pontious. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII in the 32nd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron, 3rd Air Force, later deployed in the 5th Photo Group, 15th Air Force, in southern Italy. Frank enjoyed flying airplanes with all his friends and was a flight instructor for several years in the OKC area. Frank retired from Norick Brothers Office Supplies in 1985.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his late wife, Helen Pontious; and 1 brother, Harlan Pontious.
Frank is survived by his wife, Frankie; 1 daughter, Vickie Sharp, 1 nephew, Jack Pontious; 2 stepdaughters, Linda Lavender and Beverly Whitener; 1 grandson, Matt Jeffrey; 6 step-grandchildren, Kristin Geddes, Rachel Wilson, Amy Lawrence, Curtis Whitener, Chad Lavender, Leesa Lavender; 2 great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren and other family members.
Visitation will be at Hahn-Cook, Tues., from 4-9 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wed., June 1, at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd.
