Born in Canada, he began his career as a radio announcer at WJZ in New York City and went on to cover several historical events including the funeral of William Jennings Bryan and the inauguration of Calvin Coolidge. He appeared on the television programs, "Battle Of The Ages" (1952), and "The Better Home Show" (1951-1952). He was also featured in several early documentaries as well, "Screen Snapshots: Disc Jockeys, U.S.A."
