Emanuel was the seventh child and seventh son of thirteen children born to Lewis Merritt WILMOT and Catherine D. HENDRICKSON.

It appears that Wallace and Walter were twins based on the 1850 and 1860 census.

Emanuel is on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 Census with is parents and siblings in Great Bend, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania. In 1880 he was 20 years old, single, and working for the Rail Road. The Wilmots lived on Rail Road Street, and the father, Lewis, was a Blacksmith, in all three census.
Emanuel married Harriet Eugenie "Hattie" CRANDALL 28 DEC 1881 in Great Bend.
They had 1 daughter:
Edith Pansy WILMOT (1882-1922) who was born in Halstead, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania
Emanuel is in City Directories in Elmira, Chemung Co., New York from 1882 to 1900. During those years he is a conductor on the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad.
In 1904 & 1905 he is in the City Directories in Binghamton, Broome Co., New York, occupation conductor.
In 1908 he is back in the Elmira City Directory.
His granddaughter, Eugenie Elizabeth (ROBINSON) BROOKS HAYDEN, my grandmother, told me that "he was fired for letting people ride free."
In 1914 he is in the City Directory in St. Louis, Missouri.
Emanuel and Hattie moved to Moberly, Randolph Co., Missouri and Emanuel was the Station Master there until his death.
Their daughter, Edith, married her second husband in Moberly 30 MAR 1918.
Emanuel & Hattie are on the 1920 census in Moberly. Emanuel was the Station Master for the Wabash Rail Road. His granddaughter, Eugenie is living with them.
"He smoked cigars and liked to play pinochle."
He raised Eugenie after his daughter died in January 1922.
"He was heartbroken after Edith's death and was found ill in the cemetery"
He died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
