GENERAL AFFIDAVIT STATE OF KENTUCKY COUNTY OF LINCOLN
In the matter of Elizabeth Yocum widow of Geo. A. On this 29th day of May 1880, personally appeared before me a ------in and for the aforesaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths G.H. Walls aged 51 years, a resident of near McKinney Station in the County of Lincoln, and State of Kentucky, whose Post Office address is McKinney's Station well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn, declare in relation to aforesaid case, as follows: Affiant states that they were well acquainted with George A. Yocum dec'd whom widow Elizabeth Yocum is an applicant for Pension and personally acquainted with his physical condition before he was sent to the ------ Asylum at Lexington and after his return. They state that the family was informed that no good could be rendered him at the Asylum and that the family could bring him home and affiant Sarah M. Walls went & brought him home. Affiant attended and assisted in nursing him from his return home from the Asylum until his death which took place Nov 17, 1877. Affiant Sarah M. Walls states that in company with the widow Elizabeth Yocum they called on Dr Edward Alcorn for medical attention and the only treatment rendered was to ------ the ------parts, the doctor informing them that he could be of no service to him in his condition. He died on the 17th day of Nov 1877 and the only medical treatment in his last illness was the above by Dr Alcorn & he died from spinal disease or ------. G.H. Walls Sarah M. Walls

DECLARATION FOR PENSION OR FOR INCREASE OF PENSION OF CHILDREN UNDER SIXTEEN YEARS OF AGE
State of Kentucky, County of Lincoln. On this 24th day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty two personally appeared before me Clerk of the County a Court Record within and for the county and State aforesaid, K.L. Tanner Guardian for Arthur A., Mary E., Alice and Crim, minor children of George A. Yocum dec'd resident of McKinney, County of Lincoln, State of Kentucky. That they are the legitimate children of George A. Yocum Deceased who enlisted under the name of George A. Yocum at Harrodsburg Ky, on the 2 day of January 1862 as a private in Company K, 19th Regt Ky Vols in the war of the Rebellion, who died in Lincoln County Kentucky from disease and injury received in the military service of the United States on the 18th day of November 1877 and who bore at the time of his death the rank of citizen, discharged soldier that he left a widow surviving who remarried on the 19th day of October 1881 that the above named are the only surviving legitimate children of George A. Yocum who were under sixteen years of age at the time of his death, of whom Arthur A., Mary E., Alice and Crim are living and that said children were the issue of soldier, as follows, the dates of their birth as hereafter stated:
Arthur A., of soldier by Elizabeth, born October 9, 1868
Mary E., of soldier by Elizabeth, born August 28, 1871
Alice, of soldier by Elizabeth, born January 21, 1874
Crim, of soldier by Elizabeth, born March 13, 1877
That the mother was married under the name of Elizabeth Smith to the said father George A., there being no legal barrier to such marriage; that the said children have not aided or abetted the rebellion; and that prior application has been filed by the mother & widow and pension granted 28 August 1880 No of certificate 18977 that declarant hereby appoint with full power of substitution and revocation Robert Blain of Hustonville Ky his attorney to prosecute the above claim; that his post office address is McKinney Lincoln County, Kentucky.
