Mary Jane (Choate) Bannister, 77, of Forest Hill Drive, Simsbury, wife of the late William K. Bannister, died Tuesday (Jan. 17, 1995) at Hartford Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1918 in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Douglas) Choate, and had lived in Simsbury for 50 years.
She was a graduate of Ohio State University in Columbus, Oh., Class of 1938. Mrs. Bannister was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Tariffville and the Executive Board of the Simsbury Visiting Nurse Association.
She is survived by a son, John K. Bannister of Riverton; two daughters, Sally Choate of Simsbury and Margaret Choate of Rhinebeck, N.Y.; a brother, Robert T. Choate of Elyria, Oh.; one grandson and two granddaughters.
Memorial funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 1995 at 11 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, Church Street, Tariffville, with the Rev. Francis C. Howard officiating. Burial will be in Curtiss Cemetery, Simsbury, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, has charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury 06070.
