Grandson of Mary Anna Davidson Miller and Samuel Miller (of Lynchburg, Virginia) and of James M. Dill and Amanda Jane Martin Dill;
Great-Grandson of Anna Smith and Joseph Davidson and of Jane Miller and James Brooks;
Nephew of Robert W. Davidson (wife, Lucetta White Davidson), James Monroe Davidson (wife, Sarah E. McCutcheon Davidson), Samuel Miller Davidson (wife, Lula Katherine Wallace Davidson), Bennett Marion Davidson, Albert E. Davidson, Mary Anna Miller (Mrs. Henry J. Abbott), Martha V. Dill, Harriet Jane Dill, James Isaac Dill and Andrew M. Dill.
John Graham Davidson's father, John Davidson, died only a few months before John's birth......his mother, Margaret, remained a Widow and raised John by herself, operating a Hotel in Millboro Springs, Bath County, Virginia.
When John was 21, he married Lillian R. Phillips in Haywood County, Tennessee. He worked for awhile as an Electrician while they lived in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia; in 1907 John and Lillian moved back to Millboro Springs in Bath County, where John was appointed U.S. Postmaster.
In 1910 John and Lillian returned to Richmond, where John worked as a Commercial Shoe Salesman and Lillian was a Professional singer.
By 1918, when John registered for the WWI Draft, he and Lillian were living back in Millboro Springs and John was managing his mother's farm and properties.
After John's mother Margaret passed away, he took over as Proprietor for the Hotel. At some point, John had attended college for four years and by 1940 he was working as the General Foreman for the WPA (Federal Work Projects Administration)in Millboro Springs, Bath County.
John Graham Davidson passed away in 1949 at the age of 74.
He and his wife Lillian are buried beside one another in the Windy Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Millboro Springs.....he had earlier buried his mother beside his father in the Goshen Baptist Cemetery in Rockbridge County.
