G W Stanley, a well known farmer of Knox county, died Tuesday at his home at Bell's Bridge grounds. Last Wednesday Mr. Stanley made a business trip to Knoxville and on arriving home he complained of being ill. Early Thursday morning he was stricken with Paralysis and was unconscious until the time of his death.

He is survived by a wife, five daughters, who are: Mrs. J R Black, Mrs. C O Fowler, Mrs. C A Lucas, Mrs. Will Fowler and Mrs. E W Odell and one son, Gilbert. He is also survived by two brothers, William Stanley of Inskip and P G Stanley of Memphis.

The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Bell's Bridge Baptist church. Interment was in the burying ground at the church.

The deceased was born September 10, 1839, age being 70 years, 8 months and 27 days. He was married to Susan E Graves on March 17, 1864. To this happy union, six children, one son and five daughters were born. They are all still living and present.

He professed religion in 1851 at the age of twelve at the old Copper Ridge Campground and he attached himself to the Methodist church at that place. The Methodist church of this place was organized about 35 years ago and he was one of the five charter members. He had been a devoted Christian and a faithful worker in the church up to the time of his death.
