Charles R. Shultz, 80, a native of Huntington County, died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the Methodist Hospital at Gary, where he had been taken a few hours earlier. He was found ill in his home, 2871 Burr Street, Gary, earlier in the evening. He lived alone. Mr. Shultz, a plasterer by occupation, had lived in Gary the last several years. He was born August 6, 1878, in Huntington County to George and Corinda Bowman Shultz. He married Blanche Estella Lee, June 8, 1898. She is dead. Surviving are two sons, George F. Shultz, Marion and Charles Leroy Shultz, Houston, Texas. There are numerous cousins and other distant relatives residing in the Huntington community. The body was brought Friday to the Bailey Mortuary where friends may call after noon Saturday and where funeral services will be held Monday, the time to be announced later. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Funeral services for Charles R. Shultz were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Bailey mortuary with the Rev. E. R. Fisher officiating. Music was by Mrs. Mary Rowe at the organ. Pallbearers were Oren Wile, Grover Berry, Raymond Ulrich, George Barrett, Orville Heiney, and Dale Bonewitz. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery.
