ST. ELMO — N. Catherine Rogers, 91, of St. Elmo died 6:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 19, 2004) in Friendship Manor, St. Elmo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Kaskaskia Church, Beecher City. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Kessel Funeral Home, St. Elmo, and one hour before services in the church. Catherine was born May 14, 1913, in Avena Township, the daughter of Everette S. and Olive Mae Grant Watson. She was a homemaker and a 20-year 4-H leader of Fayette County. She was a member of Fayette County Home Extension for more than 20 years. She was a Sunday school teacher and pianist at Kaskaskia Church of the Brethren. She married Dorse W. Rogers on July 30, 1932, in Avena Township. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1993.
Surviving are her daughters, Marilyn (Leonard) Haslett of Bridgeport; Evelyn (Richard) Taylor of Decatur; Leah Beth (Kent) Austin of Marion; Lois (Ron) Gillespie of Forsyth; Cathy (Kenneth) Flowers of St. Elmo; sons, Jack (Marilyn) Rogers of Sullivan; Joe (Tammy) Rogers of St. Elmo; sisters, Marjorie Watson and Jan (Al) Niemeyer, both of St. Elmo; Louella Keith of Dayton, Ohio; Carol (Don) Keiser of Shelby, Ohio; brothers, Marshall Watson of Las Vegas, Nev.; Max E. (Helen) Watson of St. Elmo; Robert (Millie) Watson of Heyward, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Paul Rogers; grandchildren, Doug Rogers and Melanie Taylor; brothers, Ernest and Revis Watson; and sister, Velma Watson.
