1900 Census suggests Rena was born in Indian Territory. The 1900 census also shows the family living in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. This territory is located in the south eastern part of Oklahoma and includes Durant, Bryan Co., OK.

Mrs. Rena Pigg, 43 year old mother of 14 children, died at a local hospital last night at 6:40 following a 10 day's illness. The deceased was the wife of Luther Pigg and had resided with her family in Silo for the past 28 years.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at Cox's chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Shelton officiating. Arrangements are in charge of Gus Pool and Son funeral home.
Mrs. Pigg was a life-long member of the Baptist church and besides her husband, is survived by eight sons, John, Cleo, Leon, Virge, Joe, Junior, all of Silo, Alvis Brow and Tommy, Mead; and six daughters, Mrs. Bessie Washer of Hugo and Dorothy, Mildred, Annie, Lois and Joyce, all of Silo.
